God Save the Queen

After seeing the late Alexander McQueen's exhibit, Savage Beauty, at the Metropolitan
Museum of Art, I came to better understand who Alexander McQueen was. While many
of McQueen's pieces may seem strange at first, your eyes are drawn to it, forcing you to
examine the beauties of it. At times the dresses were shocking, and at times even
disturbing, but to me, clothes are not meant to be glanced over. Fashion is supposed to
evoke emotion and that is what McQueen intended. Here are some of my favorite and
most breath-taking pieces of the exhibit.

Summer in the City

Today AJ and I adventured into the city for the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. I don't think words could describe the wearable art

that the late Alexander McQueen had created. It was a truly breathtaking and

inspiring exhibit. The exhibit is nearing its last week of showing, therefore, if you

haven't seen it yet, you better sprint over to 5th Avenue to check it out! As for the

outfit of the day, we have finally gotten a break from the humid 100
degree weather!
Check out what I was sporting around Manhattan today!

Must-Have: Beach Tunics

In a few short weeks I will be going down the shore for some sun and sand. I was able
to get my hands on this great crochet tunic, which is the perfect beach cover-up. It's
cute, stylish, and easy to throw on over your bathing suite after a day of soaking up the
sun. Any tunic, crochet or not, is a great addition to your warm weather wardrobe.

Strike a Pose

I recently discovered the iPhone app Poser, which acts like a Facebook for all of the
glamazons out there. You can snap a photo of your current outfit or an item that you
just had to have and it allows you to share it with anyone with the Poser app. Fellow
Pose fans can "love" and even "follow" your profile. Pose had just featured a photo
from my "Neutral Territory" post, as well as a pair of wedges I just bought. The wedges
even made it to the Popular section, which was really awesome! Download Pose now
to post your own fashions, as well as follow mine! Discover me at: marafili

Neutral Territory

Yesterday, AJ took me out for lunch and some ice cream on the boardwalk. It was a
perfect, lazy day off - sunny with a light breeze coming off of the
lake. Try pairing
a simple top with a fun, flowy skirt for an effortless look
that is chic and simple for
a relaxing summer day.

Short Story

I have kept all of you hanging for quite some time now. Having your wisdom
teeth taking out are not a girl's most beautiful moments.
But school is out,
the summer sun is shining, and I am ready to bring
you more of my favorite
fashions. Shorts have always been summer's
must have piece of clothing.
You can always catch me sporting some pretty
short numbers throughout
the seas
on! Since I am only 5'0, shorter shorts do the trick for making my
legs seem longer. Glamour Magazine has
described the perfect shorts for if
you are pear-shaped, have long legs,
or are plus-sized, in their article on-line
article,
"How to Find the Best Shorts for Your Legs."
